NFL Rookie Training Camp Party

We had a wonderful time at the NFL Rookie Training Camp Party!.

My husband, who has actually coached football, came up with all of the drills and was a tremendous help during this party! We started the party off by giving everyone a shirt with a number on it. I made waterbottles with their numbers on them as well


From the moment we gave them their shirts, we only called them by their number and not their names. We told them that 32 NFL teams were here to look at how each one of them does the different drills that were designed. At the end of the party they would be drafted by an NFL Team. We got the guys ready by stretching, this made it like an official camp and the kids loved it!

After they stretched, we did field goal kicking drills. Our field goal post was made out of pvc pipe. We used nerf footballs to ensure the safety of everyone. We did running back drills, receiving drills, and quarterback drills.
Our quarterback throwing drill was a drill that the kids had to throw the ball at a target. The targets were made out of plywood that we painted and added numbers to. We painted the different areas different colors and then added vinyl numbers that we cut with our cricut.

The object of the drill was for the kids to throw the ball and try to hit it in the middle of the target. However, they were to try to get as many points as they could. We marked the end of the football with cornstarch. When the ball hit the board, it marked where it hit. This made it easy for us and we did not have to depend on our eyes to keep score. It worked out beautifully!

This party turned out to be really fun! The parents could not help but participate in the drills as well
The cake was a replica of the NFL shield logo. We had a local bakery make the cake for us and I must say, the logo looked very official!
After the drills we did an official NFL draft. Each boy was drafted into the league by one of the 32 teams. The favor bags were sports bags that had their last name on it. Each child got to keep a nerf ball that was used during the party, a water bottle that had their number on it, a black shirt (the numbers were removeable), and a bag of candy of course!

We ended the party by pouring a cooler of blue paper shred on top of the birthday boy!!
He had no idea what was happening at first, then he thought we were going to pour real water on him!

It was funny and a cute way to end an NFL Party!

Dinosaur Dig Party!

We Dig Dinosaurs!
We had a wonderful time at Dill's 9th birthday party! This little boy aspires to be a paleontologist, so we made his dream come true!! For one day he and his friends got to be junior paleontologists, and boy was it fun! We started the party off by making fossils that the kids could take home.

This kit actually is a handprint kit for kids to make their handprints for a keepsake. We just gave it another use at this party and made dinosaur fossils that the kids used stamps (included in the kit) to put their names on their fossils. We then got to use our scientific skills and each child got to erupt their very own volcano!


One child told us that this was his favorite part of the entire party!!! We made the volcanoes with empty water bottles, paper mache, and a little spray paint! We put baking soda into each bottle using a funnel. In paper cups we mixed water, vinegar, dishwashing soap, and red food coloring. The kids poured the mixture into the bottles at the top of the volcano and just waited. It didn't take long before each volcano was pouring out lava. If you haven't seen this experiment with the dishwashing soap, it is a lot different from the basic baking soda vinegar look to it
.



We told the kids that there were some dinosaur eggs hiding around the property and they had to find them. This was fun!




It reminded me of an easter egg hunt, with king sized eggs! Each dinosaur egg was made using a balloon and paper mache. Once all of the eggs were found, we took them inside and told the kids to crack them open. We filled each dinosaur egg with candy and toys! The kids were astonished to see that there was actually something inside each one of these eggs.


We put all of their candy into thier paleontologist bags. They all received paleontologist bags, grass hats, binoculars, and plastic dinosaur cups.
We then went digging in the sand for dinosaur bones.


Once the kids found all of the bones, we put together a dinosaur skeleton. We numbered the pieces prior to the party and we simply had to match the numbers to put the skeleton together. This made this activity super easy. They also found "rocks" in the sand. Each child had tools in their paleontologist bag to dig a miniature dinosaur skeleton with it's own stand.



We had a dinosaur cupcake stand with a six inch cake on the top with a cake topper called Wishosaurus ( it is a plastic dinosaur that has a place for the candles) it holds 10 candles.

We sang and opened gifts and sent our little paleontologists on their way! Everyone had a good time and we loved the end result! This is a great party!!!!!

Busy, busy, busy!

It has been a long time since I have blogged. The summer is usually a slow time for us, but not this year. We have been getting orders non-stop! We even worked some during our vacation to get everything done. And when we returned, we were booked for 3 parties. Did I mention those three parties are all on the same weekend? Three parties in ONE weekend!!!!!! For three different age groups!!!! We have a NFL Draft party for 13 year olds, a Dinosaur Dig party for 8 year olds, and a Luau Party for 2 year olds. We have combine drills, gatorade bottles, and a draft all lined up with the birthday boy winning the SuperBowl of course! We have fossil making, bone digging, geode smashing, and volcano erupting for the dinosaur dig party. We have a limbo contest, sand castle making, candy sand activity, surf boarding, and fishing for the Luau party! It's going to be a hectic but fun weekend. The NFL draft curtains are made, the themed cupcake towers are done, and the tablescapes have all been put together. These children are going to LOVE their parties. And we may need to take a week off!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Monopoly Themed Birthday Party

My husband is turning 36! I wanted to do a themed party for him that he would be sure to like. After much thought, I came up with a monopoly themed birthday party.
So far, this is what I came up with!

Of course, by the time we have the party it will be much more elaborate than this. This is just to give you an idea what kind of party you can create once you have a theme to get you started. My husband absolutely LOVES Monopoly, and he's actually quite good at it too! It was the perfect theme.

I made oversized cards for the tables. Each table is a different color based on the card centerpiece. The one shown has blue plates, etc. because it is Boardwalk. Down the center of each table were oversized dice (one or two, it varied), monopoly pieces, monopoly cards, etc. The menus were color coordinated with the table colors and so were the placecards.

I am in the process of making an oversized Monopoly Game to play at the party. I had this wonderful idea, only to find it has already been done. In San Jose, California they actually have a Monopoly in the park. It is just what I had in mind. When you google oversized Monopoly Game on the internet, you find all sorts of ideas as well. I believe this will be a party he won't forget.

I also found Monopoly coffee mugs which will make perfect favors. And there is a shop on etsy that does Monopoly notepads. The front cover are actually recycled Monopoly cards! What a wonderful theme for a wonderful party!

Our new Picasso Cupcake Stands!

Do you have the next Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh ? Then an Art Party might be just the thing for them when celebrating their next birthday! What a fun and unique party that is full of fun inexpensive things that you can do. This party can be geared for younger or older children! One of the things we try to do at Mommy Mogul is provide innovative, fun, and unique gifts and merchandise! We decided that an artist's color paint palette would look adorable as a cupcake stand!

We were right!

This stand is made out of 3/4 inch plywood and painted a deep chocolate brown color.
I cut it out myself! I love power tools!

All you have to do is have the bakery make your cupcakes with the solid colors using a straight tip (so they look like mounds of paint on a painter's palette)!
We think it came out pretty perfect!

The idea of the giant tube of paint that you see in the picture came from setting the mood. We saw this in one of her parties and loved it! I wanted to buy a few when I saw them, but upon closer inspection I realized I could make it! And I think I did a pretty good job. But the idea was ingenious and I can't take credit for it. Art Parties are lots of fun because they are colorful and there are so many different things you can do! I think little chalkboards (on desk top easels) with guests name on it would be great place cards.
Empty paint cans are VERY inexpensive to buy at hardware stores and you can have different colors of fabric coming out of it to resemble paint. You can stack them up in the center of the table for a cute centerpiece. If your budget can afford it, a smoch for each guest would be fun and a great party favor!
